WHSC/OHCOW workers' ergonomics conference offers solutions-oriented agenda
As worker activists and union representatives you know the pain your co-workers and members suffer from poorly designed work. You also know the effort it takes to prevent this pain, and the frustration when, despite your best efforts, you are unable to eliminate this pain.
To recognize Global Ergonomics Month and to help support your work of preventing musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), the Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers (OHCOW) and Workers Health & Safety Centre (WHSC) will co-host a conference with an agenda focused squarely on solutions.

This worker-centred conference will overview the scope of the MSD epidemic through plenary sessions and by capturing participant feedback, all of which will help inform WHSC and OHCOW future priorities.

Engaging workshops will allow participants to share their experience, discuss barriers to identifying, assessing and controlling MSD hazards in the workplace and then strategies to overcome them. During the conference, participants and conference facilitators will also review the many relevant WHSC and OHCOW tools and resources for MSD prevention and exchange ideas for new resources. We will also highlight those successes workers’ advocates have had battling MSDs, and what we take from these successes.

Participants and conference facilitators will come away having learned much from each other.
