For more than 30 years, workers, their representatives and community advocates have filled the classrooms at this educational opportunity offered in both the spring and fall each year. Its popularity and effectiveness rooted in its commitment to objective-based, participant-centred learning
—an educational philosophy long embraced by the labour movement.
Through carefully crafted learning and action objectives and the delivery of training content, programs are structured to ensure participants obtain measurable skills, knowledge and confidence for action. Important to this end is the role of highly-qualified instructors who guide the learning process with the input of participants to ensure learning is achieved and directly applicable
to their individual workplace experience.
