WHSC Level I Occupational Health & Safety Training or
WHSC Level II Law Training (Provincial)
*participants register for one of the two programs
Every Tuesday beginning Oct. 10, 2017 through Dec. 12, 2017 (6pm to 9pm)
3129 Marentette Ave, Windsor, Ontario (OHCOW/WOHIS Building)
Workers, worker representatives, health and safety advocates
The WHSC Level I Occupational Health and Safety Training
introduces activists to a range of workplace hazards, principles for eliminating or controlling exposure along with occupational health and safety law.
The WHSC Level II Law Training
explores how occupational health and safety laws and regulations have been interpreted and used to help protect workers. The various inadequacies in the laws themselves as well as enforcement are also reviewed along with strategies to overcome them.
Both programs are designed to inspire or reignite activism at work, in the union and in the community for the purpose of pursuing prevention. Equally important, learning activities help to teach participants how they are part of the same movement and can be important resources to one another long after program completion.
Those who’ve completed WHSC Certification Training
programs will have already gained some insight into the basics of workplace health and safety. The WHSC Level I and II Training programs
though will provide additional knowledge, tools and confidence workers and their representatives can draw upon as they pursue safer and healthier workplaces, better legislation and stronger enforcement.
