Workers Health & Safety Centre

Deadline extended to June 15 for WHSC Student Scholarship Competition

Graduates celebrate with their diplomas
The deadline for submissions to this year’s annual Workers Health & Safety Centre (WHSC) high school student scholarship competition has been extended.

Open to graduating high school students who are headed for post-secondary education, this contest is primarily designed to help raise awareness among this group of new and young workers of key occupational health and safety rights, responsibilities and principles. It also aims to help dispel the myth that careless worker behaviours cause traumatic fatalities and injuries, or the significant incidence of occupational disease.

The two top applicants will receive $2,000 scholarships with up to three additional $1,000 scholarships awarded to students whose submissions merit recognition.

NEW DEADLINE: Friday, June 15, 4:00 pm

Those responding should read the scholarship rules and application form very carefully.
