OHCOW to host 25th Anniversary Conference

Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers Inc. (OHCOW)
The Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers Inc. (OHCOW) is pleased to announce their 25th Anniversary Conference to be held October 30-31, 2014.
 
The 25th Anniversary Conference—“Celebrating the Past and Looking Forward”, will kick off with significant keynote addresses, a presentation on OHCOW history and past achievements, followed by a series of interactive and informative sessions relating to clinical, hygiene, ergonomic, and psycho-social hazards, as well as new prevention tools.

Registration
$200 plus H.S.T. per attendee (includes two breakfasts and one lunch).
 
Registration deadline
September 19, 2014.
 
Session topics include the following
Mental injury concerns, causation of chronic diseases, back injuries, physical demands description, office ergonomics, noise-induced hearing loss, heat stress, musculoskeletal disorders (MSD), and the latest academic and research collaboration projects.
 
For the past 25 years, OHCOW has been at the forefront promoting a health-based prevention approach to occupational health concerns for workers, employers, and unions in all sectors and from all parts of the province.
 
Their mission is to protect all workers and their communities from occupational hazards and promote the social, mental and physical well-being of workers and their families. They accomplish this by identifying workplace factors detrimental to the health and well-being of all workers; through the distribution of excellent occupational health, hygiene and ergonomic information to increase knowledge among workers, employers and the general public; and through the provision of services designed to produce changes to improve workplaces and the health of workers.
