Ontario health and safety law accessible through new e-Laws website

ontario.ca/laws
The Ontario government has launched the new e-Laws website where the public can access official copies of statutes and regulations including the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

The new platform at ontario.ca/laws offers both browse and search functions with results appearing directly to the right on the same screen.

Once a visitor accesses a specific law, navigational tabs allow them to readily switch between the current law and previous versions (if they exist). In the case of the Occupational Health & Safety Act (the Act), visitors can access the most current version as well as others going back to 2004.

Other useful tabs offer a list of regulations under a specific law, as well as those regulations that have been revoked.

All legislation can be downloaded and printed. Printouts of an Act or regulation from e-Laws are deemed to be official copies.

According to the government there will be no disruption in service with the transition to the new site and new laws will continue to be posted within two days. They also claim existing links or bookmarks to the old website will automatically be directed to the new website–ontario.ca/laws.
