Workers' Memorials in Timmins

Porcupine Miners' Memorial
The Porcupine Miners' Memorial Committee intends to construct a monument at the Timmins Gold Mine Tour Site. A miner standing ten feet tall standing on a pile of broken muck (mine rock) will be the centrepiece of this monument. Head frames will be erected on either side of the miner with murals depicting historic and modern mining scenes. The monument will honour all who worked and continue to work the mines of the Porcupine Camp. A list containing the names of those killed while working area mines will also be part of the monument.
