Workers and others are invited to participate in an upcoming health, safety and workers compensation educational sponsored by the labour councils of Eastern Ontario.
For 19 years, this unique training opportunity has received rave reviews from participants, many of whom return year after year. School organizers and instructors (many of whom are Workers Health & Safety Centre-trained) seek to go beyond simply building awareness about the specific subject being taught. They also seek to build confidence in the participants and challenge them to get involved in their workplaces and help create safer and healthier work environments.
The following programs are being offered (participants register for one):
- WHSC Level I Basic Occupational Health & Safety
- WHSC Level II Health & Safety Committees (Provincial)
- Advanced JHSC Member and Certified Representative Strategies Workshop
- OFL/ODRT WSIB Level 3 Appeals
- OFL/ODRT WCB Program Level 1 & 2

The format for this ever-popular training school involves participants arriving on Wednesday, November 18th with sessions beginning that evening. The school runs through noon on Sunday, November 22. Participants stay on-site at the Isaiah Tubbs Resort and Conference Centre in Picton, Ontario.
Organizers of this training school encourage interested parties to register by November 2, 2009.
