Supervisors oversee the work of others. With this critical role come important legal duties. Ontario employers must ensure their supervisors are competent, know about workplace hazards and understand health and safety laws.
Completing training that satisfies health and safety requirements is no small matter. Neither is finding the time to do so.
The Workers Health & Safety Centre (WHSC) now offers an innovative online solution to help supervisors understand and comply with their many legal responsibilities. Drawing upon content from a successful classroom-based supervisor health and safety training program, WHSC has reconfigured the material to create a convenient, flexible and cost-effective training solution while staying true to the best in adult learning principles.
The seven-module program, supported by downloadable resources, will be accessible to anyone with a computer and an internet connection. Like all WHSC training programs, this promises an engaging, participatory and relevant experience for learners.
Accessible and flexible
The online program offers many benefits to those challenged by time and work schedules:
ü Accessible training 24/7 so participants learn at their own pace.
ü Real-time e-class sessions ensure a participatory, integrated experience with both an instructor and other learners.
ü Additional instructor coaching and customized feedback available through a dedicated phone line and email access.
ü Sessions further ensure content retention with optional narration, engaging videos, instructive flow charts, and instant glossary of definitions.
Low introductory rates range from $65 to $150 per participant. The more you train the more you save. For an additional 10 per cent discount be sure to quote promo code: EM01.
Of this new WHSC offering, Dave Killham, WHSC executive director says, “The e-class is a natural progression for the WHSC. The nature of work and the workplace is changing. What has not changed though is the need for training which fully meets health and safety requirements. Our e-class provides all that in a new format without compromising the participatory nature of our traditional training programs. Learners will still have access to, and learn from, an experienced instructor and other participants. We think it’s the best of both worlds.”
