NEW DIGITAL RECORD OF TRAINING
Fake health and safety training records are a serious concern in Ontario workplaces. To help address this issue, WHSC is the first and only health and safety association in Ontario to develop and implement a secure digital Record of Training (ROT) system. Our system makes it easier to access, verify, and share official training records while reducing administrative time and helping protect workplace health and safety. Records include courses approved by Ontario’s Chief Prevention Officer and courses to meet many general and specific training requirements in provincial and/or federal health and safety law.
Benefits to workers and employers
- Centralized access to training records
All WHSC training credentials are stored in one secure, easy-to-access online location, so no more managing multiple paper certificates or plastic cards.
- Easy to carry, wherever work takes you
The new digital ROT system is ideal for workers who change jobs or worksites, as access to training records are always available anytime, anywhere.
- Clear training status and alerts
Instantly see which records are valid, expired, or nearing expiry. This also helps prevent lapses in required training.
- Quick updates after course completion
Records are updated promptly once training is finished and student forms received, thus ensuring accurate and up-to-date records for all learners.
- Official and government-recognized
These digital records are issued by WHSC, Ontario’s only official, government-designated health and safety training centre and all are accepted by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD).
- Secure, verified documentation
Digital records reduce risk of counterfeit cards and are trusted by workers, employers, and Ministry inspectors.
- Reduced administrative burden
WHSC digital ROTs simplify tracking and documenting compliance and helps streamline health and safety recordkeeping.
Accessing the digital ROT
As you complete training with us, you’ll receive your own unique ROT card in the mail. Digital WHSC ROTs can now be viewed securely online through your dedicated QR code or through our
ROT portal page. Use the credentials supplied with your card to access the portal.
Existing participants already in our system will receive a new card once they register for a new course. Until then your existing certificates and cards are still valid with us. However, if you’ve already taken a course in the past and would like a digital ROT you can contact us to request a new card, giving you access to your training records electronically.
Training for what matters most
WHSC is proud to be Ontario’s official, government-designated health and safety training centre, delivering quality training that is practical, relevant, and built to help prevent needless workplace injuries, illnesses, and deaths.
Training is flexible and always instructor-led, with delivery options to suit your needs. Whether you prefer in-person sessions in a community near you, on-site training to accommodate more learners, or online virtual learning, we’ve got you covered.
With
training facilities across Ontario, including Markham, Hamilton, Ottawa, Sudbury, and London, access is designed to work for workers and workplaces across the province.
