WHSC Level I program offered at upcoming CLC winter school
There’s still time to register for WHSC Level I training offered as part of the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) Ontario region winter educational.
WHSC continues to partner with the labour movement to ensure workers and their representatives get occupational health and safety training that meets their needs. Far too many employers and training service providers offer programs focused on workers’ behaviour as the cause of most work-related injuries, illnesses and deaths.
WHSC Level I program explores the shortcomings of behaviour-based safety (BBS) and why hazard elimination or exposure control is most effective in safeguarding worker well-being. Overall, the program is designed to empower workers and their representatives with the knowledge and tools to play an informed and confident role in the pursuit of safer and healthier workplaces.
In addition to the WHSC Level I program, the CLC Ontario region winter school offers participants additional union activist training opportunities ranging from worker compensation advocacy to member engagement.
